Mr. Joseph Harnois sells his first irrigation system.
1965
Founding of Irrigation Saint-Thomas (originally Industries Harnois inc.), a company specializing in agricultural equipment and irrigation systems.
1968
The company diversifies its offering by entering the greenhouse manufacturing industry.
1971
Mr. Rolland Harnois replaces his father as president and joins forces with his brother Yves Harnois. That same year, the company designs Quebec's first complex of twin greenhouses.
1976
We are the first Canadian company to propose the use of inter-row air circulation tubes for heating distribution in greenhouses.
1977
The company experiments with and offers Canada's first warm-air underfloor heating system using clay drainage pipes.
1978
We are the first Canadian company to offer sprinkler cooling of vegetable plants in greenhouses, and to introduce tunnel structures with integrated natural ventilation to Canada.
1981
Irrigation Saint-Thomas becomes Les Industries Harnois inc. to better reflect the diversity of its offering.
1982
The company is the first in North America to use ovalized tubes to manufacture greenhouse structures.
1983
Les Industries Harnois inc. has positioned itself as one of North America's leading greenhouse structure manufacturers, and has opened up its market even further by setting up a network of greenhouse distributors in eastern and western Canada.
1986
Start of sales activities in the United States.
1991
First installation in North America of a large-width film rewinder for greenhouse coverings.
1993
Start of sales activities in Mexico.
1995
Les Industries Harnois inc. named #1 company of the decade in the Greater Joliette region.

Launch of the MegaDome® division
