History

1965
Irrigation St-Thomas
Irrigation St-Thomas is incorporated. Main activities: sale of irrigation systems and agricultural equipment specialist.
1968
Diversification
Diversification into the greenhouse manufacturing industry.
1970
Major innovation
First installation of greenhouses with double, inflated polyethylene in Canada.
1971
Construction
Construction of the first complex of gutter connected greenhouses in Quebec.
1972
Introduction of aluminium fasteners
Introduction of aluminium fasteners to Canada dedicated to securing greenhouse polyethylene films.
1981
Industries Harnois Inc.
St. Thomas Irrigation Inc. changes its name and becomes Industries Harnois. to better reflect its diversification.
1982
First company to use tubular steel
First company in North America to use tubular steel in the manufacturing of oval arches for greenhouses.
1986
First Expansion
Industries Harnois opens up for business in the U.S.
1993
Second Expansion
Industries Harnois opens up for business in Mexico.
1997
On-site curved glass cover
Design and manufacturing of a greenhouse with on-site curved glass cover.

The 90 mm Oval Tube
First Introduction of the famous 90 mm oval tube.

Introduction of Galvalume® treated tubing, with protective clear coating.

Design and implementation of a gutter connected greenhouse specifically developed for the Mexican market: the MX2000
2005
Welcome Luminosa!
Launch of the Luminosa greenhouse that is a wider and higher updated version of the MX2000 greenhouse. Productivity within the Luminosa is optimized and users can obtain higher yields than what is common on the market. Patrice and Yanick Harnois take over from their predecessors to ensure the continuity of the company.
